A Life Well Lived

Joseph Login Raymond Beaudoin, 67, of Millbrook went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2010, at Albany Medical Center. Ray was born on June 14, 1942 in Poughkeepsie and was a life long area resident.

Ray was a loving husband, grandfather, and friend. He loved his role as Pappy to his grandchildren and relished spending time with them. He enjoyed playing with his dogs and caring for his home and yard. He was a master mechanic and inventor with a great sense of humor. Ray had a sense of service above self, and loved his church family at Valley Bible Fellowship Church where he was a member.

Ray served in the United States Army, worked on the Alaskan pipeline, and was a dedicated employee at H.B. Wiltse Excavating.

Ray's father and mother, Herve and Eva (Boivin) Beaudoin, of Green Haven, predecease him. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Davis) Beaudoin; his three sons, Steven Beaudoin of Millbrook; Brandon Beaudoin of Saratoga; and Jay Slocum and his wife, Catherine of Pennsylvania; his three daughters, Alicia Beaudoin of Virginia, Tonna Odell of Pleasant Valley; and Shanon O'Hearn and her husband Jim of Millbrook. He is also survived by his two sisters, Claire Davis, of Florida and Suzanne Davis and her husband, Bucky of Green Haven; and his brother, Richard Beaudoin of Poughkeepsie; seven grandchildren, Nicole Beaudoin, Alexandra Beaudoin, Emma and Lydia Slocum, and Brittani, Kiera, and Justin O'Hearn; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

On Sunday, February 7th, 2010, hundreds gathered to honor the memory of Ray (Dad, Pap, Raymo). His memorial service revealed the amazing impact that he had on so many people and honored the legacy that he has left as a result of the selfless life he lead.

We know that he is a friend of God, a sinner saved by grace, and a man who has made his Master proud.
